Put me in coach!!

It was the big game and I knew it was my big break. I was pacing the sideline, I was practicing, warming up, I begged and I pleaded with the coach, 'put me in, coach, please put me in!'
Time passed and the game stayed close and finally the time came for the game-changing player to make an appearance. The coach turned around and looked in my direction...
... unfortunately by that point some joker had managed to rock me to sleep so missed my chance. Oh well, next time I guess!
